Hon. Otto Lang, PC, OC

Otto Lang is Senior Counsel with Fleishman-Hillard Canada, based in Winnipeg. He brings to the firm an impressive record of experience in academia, the federal government and the business community.

Mr. Lang advises Fleishman-Hillard clients on a number of issues including energy, agriculture and transportation. His appointment has added significantly to Fleishman-Hillard Canada’s presence in the Prairies and the ability of our clients to make effective political representations in Ottawa, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

Mr. Lang was elected to the House of Commons in 1968 and was re-elected in 1972 and 1974 as an MP for Saskatoon-Humboldt. He served as the Minister responsible for the Canadian Wheat Board, Minister of Manpower and Immigration, Minister of Justice, Attorney General of Canada, and Minister of Transport.

Following his career in politics, Mr. Lang served as the Executive Vice-President of Pioneer Grain Co. Ltd., Chairman of the Transport Institute at the University of Manitoba and as President and CEO of Centra Gas Manitoba Inc.

A Rhodes Scholar and a former Dean of Law at the University of Saskatchewan (the youngest person to be appointed to that position), Mr. Lang's extensive knowledge of public policy and the political process is an invaluable asset to Fleishman-Hillard Canada's clients.

Mr. Lang holds a BA and an LL.B from the University of Saskatchewan, a B.C.L from Oxford University and an LL.D from the University of Manitoba.
